Dealfront Target and Connect allow you to set three different permission types:

When you share lists or folders with other users, you may specify permissions from your own permission level or below.

  • Owners can assign Owner, Editor, and Viewer permissions

  • Editors can assign Editor and Viewer permissions

  • Viewers can assign Viewer permissions

Your permission level also determines the actions you can perform with a list:

Owner

Editor

Viewer

The user you share the list with receives the same permission level as you, unless otherwise specified

View

Depending on your permission level, you can perform the following actions on folders:

Owner

Editor

Viewer

Owners Can Sort and Rearrange Lists and Folders

Users with Owner permissions can move and rearrange lists and folders via Drag and Drop. Click on the dots at the left, hold, and rearrange as needed.

Varying Permission Levels for Folders and Lists within Folders

Once a user receives Viewer, Editor or Owner permissions for lists located inside a folder, they will be able to see the folder in their navigation panel as well. This allows you to group lists and assign permissions for several lists at once.

Please note: Users can only view lists that have been shared with them. They are not able to see all lists inside a folder unless the entire folder has been shared with them. If only some lists within a folder have been shared with a user, the default permission level for the folder will be displayed as "Viewer".

The Difference Between “Sharing a list” and “Duplicating a List”

The “Share” function gives other users access to lists and folders. Any changes made to lists and folders will be visible to other users as well – everyone is working with the same data.

Duplicating” a list will create an identical copy. The two lists will be functionally independent. This means that changes made on either the copy or the original will not be reflected on the other list.
