The Company Import component in Dealfront makes it easy to upload and manage company lists. Whether you're migrating data from another system or uploading a CSV or Excel file, this tool walks you through every step to ensure your data is clean, accurate, and ready to use.
What You Can Do with the Company Import Tool
Upload a CSV or Excel file containing company information
Map your file’s columns to Dealfront fields
Review, match, and complete the import process
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Accessing the Company Import Tool
Go to Lists and select the specific list where you want to import companies.
2. Upload Your File
3. Map Your Columns
You’ll see each column from your file automatically matched with the appropriate Dealfront fields.
Confirm each Dealfront Field is correctly mapped to the Column in File (e.g., Company Name → Name).
Leave unnecessary columns unmapped.
Sample data from your file is displayed to help verify accuracy.
Once mappings are reviewed and validated, click Next to proceed.
Please note: When you import a file with company data, we use the fields you've mapped to match your records with our internal database. Once matched, you’ll see our Dealfront data (not the data from your file) displayed in the list. Access to full data depends on your account’s seat type — if a Pro/Plus seat is missing, only limited information may be shown. For more details, refer to the Seat Management Guide.
4. Review Matches
Dealfront runs the matching process in the background.
Once complete, a red icon will be visible in the notification center:
The results are shown under three tabs:
Suggested Matches: Partial matches where you can review and select the best fit.
Exact Matches: Direct 1-1 matches with existing Dealfront companies.
No Matches Found: Companies not matched to any existing Dealfront data.
Relevant insights are provided at the bottom of the screen.
Reviewing Suggested Matches:
Click Review to compare your original data with potential Dealfront matches.
Choose the best matching company.
Once reviewed and selections are made, click Add to List.
Note: You can review matches in stages. To pause and continue later, navigate to Settings → Accounts → Imports.
5. Completing the Import
Once reviewed, all matched companies are added to your selected list.
You can now start using and filtering your list within Dealfront.
