This article provides you with a step-by-step guide on how to install the Dealfront Connect application (app), to integrate Dealfront with Microsoft Dynamics. Follow the steps described below to install and configure the application correctly.
Installation and Configuration
The installation of Dealfront Connect is simple but is requires some prerequisites. Let's take a closer look at these and then we can proceed to the installation.
Prerequisites
You must have a valid Microsoft Dynamics Account
You must have a valid Dealfront Account
Installation Steps
STEP 1: Open Microsoft Dynamics
To install the iFrame you need to start in Dynamics
STEP 2: Open Power Apps
Click on the Settings ⚙️ icon in the navigation bar
Then navigate to Advanced Settings
Now click on the drop down arrow next to Settings to open the sub menu
Click on Customization
Click on Customize the System
The Power Apps will now open
STEP 3: Open Forms Submenu
Open the Entities submenu in the sidebar
Then open the Account submenu in the sidebar
Click on Forms
In the table, click on Account to open the corresponding form settings
STEP 4: Add iFrame
In the popup that just opened, click on the Insert tab.
Click on the Section button and add a new section
Add an iFrame to the new section
Fill the iFrame Settings > General as below:
Please note: The name "EchobotCONNECT" / the designation "EchobotCONNECT" must be selected as follows otherwise the script cannot find it. As URL we choose "about:blank" to initially display a blank page. This will later be replaced by the script with the actual URL.
Fill the iFrame Settings > Formatting like this and click Ok to save.
STEP 5: Add Script
In the HOME tab, click on Form Properties
In the Form Libraries section, click on the Add button
To create a new Library click on the New button.
Please download the attached file Dealfront-MSDynamics-iFrameCode.js
In the New popup window you can create a new web resource
Add the following details:
Name: EchobotCONNECT
Type: Script (JScript)
And upload the Dealfront-MSDynamics-iFrameCode.js file to the Upload File field.
Click on Save and Publish.
📌 Pro Tip: To edit the code later, simply click on "Text Editor"
In the Lookup Record modal, select new_EchobotCONNECT and click Add
After this the Script should be found in Form Properties > Form Libraries
STEP 6: Activate Script
Now the Script needs to be added to the Event Handlers
For this, click on the Add button in the Event Handlers section
In the new Popup “Handler Properties”:
select the library new_EchobotCONNECT
Name the function loadEchobotCONNECT
Make sure that the function is enabled
Click on the OK button to save the Handler Properties
To finish the configuration, click on Save and then Publish
