Forms are a great way to capture the contact data of your website visitors.
A good call to action and a simple form can open many doors for you and your sales team. If every visitor filled out a contact form on your website you wouldn't even need Dealfront!
However, we know that isn't the case. Some research shows that only 1 in every 100 visitors fills out a contact form. This is where our Website Visitor Identification solution comes in to help fill in the gaps when your visitors don't fill out a form.
But what about those visitors who DO fill out forms on your site?
Tracking Visitors Who Fill Out Forms
With the Leadfeeder app from Dealfront, you can track each form submission on your website, and so identify the individual visitors (people!) who are using your website. This can be done by enabling the form tracking feature.
You can even capture abandoned form fill data! This is where the user hits 'submit' but hasn't filled in all the required fields for your server to validate it. If they then continue to fill out the form correctly you get the info pushed through. However, if they don't and abandon their attempt we'll still show you the fields they did fill in on their attempt.
Individual visitors can also be identified if you use HubSpot’s forms or chat feature. These visitors can be seen in the People view.
Benefits of Form Tracking
If a form is filled out by a visitor who isn't connected to a company network, this will usually be identified as an ISP. Of course, we filter these ISP visits out so that you don't pay for them and end up frustrated as the ISP doesn't have any valid company information to follow up on.
Another possibility is that some companies are known by different names, so while I may work for Dealfront and put that on a form, my colleague may say that they work for Leadfeeder/Echobot (our original company names pre-merger). We all work at the same company, we're just using different name.
It is also possible that the form was filled out on a mobile device that was using cellular data as opposed to a business network, another way visits may be filtered out as ISPs.
In all these cases, while you won't see the identified company information, you will see the form submissions in the People view. The Leadfeeder app is the perfect partner to forms on your website: one fills the gap where the other can't!
